In addition to being one of the 216 L88s made from ’67 through ’69, this was one of the seventeen from 1969 with the TH400 automatic, making it the ultimate in point and shoot. This was the top selling Corvette out here over the weekend, and apart from its condition, it’s not hard to see why.

The who's who of the Corvette world know it has a restoration engine, so it was interesting there was nothing mentioned in the description about it. This will forever be a looker, whereas, had you bought the Fathom Green L88, lot #1325, you'd be able to rip up the pavement. And you would have saved $100 grand.

"Rated at 430hp, the huge 4 barrel on the L88's free breathing aluminum heads really produced at least 500. The most valuable Corvette ever built; the price is appropriate to today's market, and the car will appreciate at the pointy-end of the market.

One of 80 1968 L88 Corvettes built. Very well presented, it was the only car in the group that exceeded its pre-sale estimate, and deservedly so. A big price, but appropriate for the car.

This car sold a couple of hours after lot #1271, the other L88 at the sale. If you had stuck around after the first one, you would have saved yourself almost about $100k, and you'd have yourself a useable car, rather than a museum piece. Well bought.

Just another ‘Vette with an older restoration, that just happens to be one of 116 1969s with the L-88 engine package. This takes what would normally be a $50,000 big-block car on a good day and brings it up to this value.

1997 Bloomington Bronze winner. Of 28,000+ 1968 Corvettes, only 80 had L88 option. Faults noted are minor and relatively easy to correct. Original L88 with different engine and color than it was born with. Honestly described, still brought big bucks.
